My baby is one year old

Are you kidding me? My baby is 1 year old already. I can honestly say that this past year has gone by incredibly fast. It has been a year full of many laughs, some frustration, tears of joy and many happy moments. Ready to puke yet? Ha! I've turned into a softie without even knowing it. Don't worry, I still enjoy beer and have a potty mouth (working on that one, though).

I know a lot of people think that breastfeeding for 1 year is enough. I'm getting ready to stop pumping at work and it will be nice not to have to take that damn pump with me to work every day. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about weaning the boy of the morning and before bed nursing sessions because he sure loves those. Some people are creeped out by extended nursing (which is considered beyond 1 year), but that doesn't bother me now that I'm faced with this decision of whether or not to continue. I'm not talking about me nursing until he can ask for the boob. My big thing is that I'd love to have my body back. Between being pregnant and nursing, my body hasn't been mine for 1 year and 9 months. Sure, this body has a saggy belly and boobs thanks to the boy, but I want it for myself. Oh, and my lovely husband would like my boobs back as well.

The boy loves music already and I am so happy. He loves children's music, but we've caught him head banging and tapping his foot to metal, classic rock, and alternative. I have to say that children's music is infectious. I still have this damn Raffi song stuck in my head from this morning. Time to plug into the iPod and listen to some VanHalen. If that doesn't solve my problem, I don't know what will.

Its so good for him to have breast fed as long as you have, I have seen the difference in kids that were breastfed vs. those that weren't. That being said, Kelly's biggest complaint and deal was the same as yours, feeling like her body was hers again.

You are not alone...
